Bloomex Canada and Bloomex Australia are heading into 2014 with strong momentum, having recorded their highest volume of web traffic and sales for a holiday period in company history during the 2013 Christmas Season.
Bloomex, a leading online florist in Canada and Australia, announced today that the recent 2013 holiday season was its most successful since the company's founding in 2005.
The company recorded record sales for the month of December, fuelled by the popularity of its line of gourmet gift baskets and Christmas-themed flower bouquets. For December -- as well as the year as a whole -- traffic to bloomex.ca was up from 2012 and sales followed suit.
"Our successful holiday season is really a testament to the staff here and the tremendous value we're able to offer our customers," said Mark Camphaug, Director of Sales & Marketing for Bloomex. "The company continues to grow, and we fully expect to carry that momentum forward into the new year."
Bloomex Australia, which was launched in 2011, also recorded its best holiday season to put a cap on its best year to date. The company's Australian operations continue to flourish, with increased revenues and brand recognition amongst the Australian public.
The company has already started preparation for the next major seasonal push, with Valentine's Day fast approaching on February 14. The annual celebration of love is a boon to florists and it is always the busiest time of year for the company in terms of web traffic and sales.
Bloomex is an e-commerce retailer of flowers, gift baskets and other gift items, based in Ottawa, Canada, with international operations in Australia and the United States. Customers place orders through its website or a toll-free phone line and the products are delivered via courier to its customers' doors.
Unlike other national brands in the florist industry, Bloomex fulfills its production on the vast majority of its customers orders, buying flowers directly from growers. The products are then shipped from the company's owned production facilities, located in eight Canadian cities in addition to Miami, Fla., and Sydney, Australia.
Further growth lies ahead for 2014. This year, the company will launch a re-designed website, featuring a refreshed look built on its established e-commerce platform. Bloomex is also making inroads into the funeral and sympathy flowers market, with a renewed focus on that side of the business. As well, the company expects to double revenue through its BunchesDirect brand, which specializes in wedding and bulk flowers with operations in the United States, Canada and Australia.
