Bloomex.ca Launches New Site Design

bloomex-new-design

Bloomex.ca, Canada’s largest online florist, is proud to launch a new design for its website today.

The new design is a fresh new look for Bloomex, which continues to flourish as the country’s leading florist. The highlights of these refreshed pages are a modernized layout that is well-suited for modern screens and devices and an emphasis on image-driven layout, making the customer experience easier and more intuitive.

“We felt it was time to take refresh our online appearance in accordance with our valued customers’ expectations,” said Mark Camphaug, Director of Marketing & Sales for Bloomex. “Our old design served us very well for a number of years, but we feel that our new layout will make the buying experience even easier and provide a bit of a fresh look."

Launched in 2005, Bloomex reported record sales and revenues in 2013. The company is unlike other florists in that it deals directly with growers, eliminating the middlemen that serve to drive up prices for end consumers of the company's competitors.

After the implementation of the new layout on Bloomex.ca, the company expects to roll out a similar look in the coming weeks for Bloomex Australia at bloomex.com.au.

Valentine's Day Contest - Great Entry #10

Bloomex is currently running a contest, open to residents of Canada, the United States, and Australia, to let us know why they, or a loved one/friend, deserve a bouquet of free roses this Valentine's Day.

My 93 year old mother who has lived a long but difficult and frugal life deserves to be honoured with roses on valentines day.  She survived the 2nd world war as well as the loss of a daughter and husband to cancer.   She is in a retirement home now but because of her frailness and the icy conditions, she has not been out.  I am her main care giver but have been ill myself with pneumonia so she has been shut in since before Christmas.  I would like to remind her that she is very much loved and has people that need and appreciate her.

Valentine's Day Contest - Great Entry #9

Bloomex is currently running a contest, open to residents of Canada, the United States, and Australia, to let us know why they, or a loved one/friend, deserve a bouquet of free roses this Valentine's Day.

My mom was recently laid off from her job, and my father was never one to really give her anything for Valentines day. As much as I would love to nominate myself to get some pretty flowers while away at school, I think they would be more appreciated going to her. It would really brighten up her day.

Valentine's Day Contest - Great Entry #8

Bloomex is currently running a contest, open to residents of Canada, the United States, and Australia, to let us know why they, or a loved one/friend, deserve a bouquet of free roses this Valentine's Day.

I'd like to nominate my mom for a free dozen roses. My mom is a single mom who is working very hard to raise my two sisters and myself on her own. My dad passed away and mom has been our rock since. She's a great mom. She works hard and gives her all to us. She doesn't ever do anything for herself because when she has extra money, she uses it on whatever my sisters or I need. I know it's hard for her and I know she'd love a surprise gift of roses. They are her favorite flower. She still has petals from the last roses my dad gave her which was the last time she was given flowers. I'd like it if she is chosen so she can know and feel as loved and appreciated as she is by us kids. This would be a small token of our appreciation but, would mean the world to her. Thank you for the opportunity to honor my mother. I appreciate the opportunity and consideration.

Hello,
My wife and I will have been married 5 months as of February 15th and this will be the 2nd valentines of the two we've know each other for that we will not be able to spend together due to my job working on the oil rigs in AB while she is in university in BC.
She is the most wonderful, spectacular, fabulous, amazing, joyful, fun, driven, loving, fantastic, gorgeous, beautiful, lovely, adorable, cuddly, smilie, happy, enjoyable, life giving, hard working, encouraging, motivating, inspiring, focused, and wonderful wife in the whole world past, present and future times infinity. And sadly I won't be able to be with her on valentines day this year, and I still want to show her how much I love her and how she is all of these things to me.

My daughter deserves to win the free roses. She has had a rough winter coping with illnesses and two very young children. She is in Canada and I am in Australia, too far away to give her a hug in person. Thank you.

My 88 year old mother deserves “roses” more than anyone I know.  During my father’s retirement, he tended over 100 rose bushes in the back garden and poured over the catalogues for new purchases.  Roses were always in our home.  He shared many bouquets with the girls at the bank, the nurses at the hospital, neighbours, the grandchildren’s teachers  – everyone.  After my father passed away, over time, so too did the roses.  Now, there are none.  However, when we do have roses in the house, my mother looks at their beauty, smells their perfume and fondly remembers my father and his passion for growing them.  It certainly brings love, family and appreciation back to the forefront!
Also, this year I will be away from the city on Valentine’s Day, so a telephone call to my mother will have to do.  Thank you for considering this submission.

RELEASE: Bloomex Reports Best Ever Holiday Season in Canada and Australia

via i-newswire:

Bloomex Canada and Bloomex Australia are heading into 2014 with strong momentum, having recorded their highest volume of web traffic and sales for a holiday period in company history during the 2013 Christmas Season.

Bloomex, a leading online florist in Canada and Australia, announced today that the recent 2013 holiday season was its most successful since the company's founding in 2005.

The company recorded record sales for the month of December, fuelled by the popularity of its line of gourmet gift baskets and Christmas-themed flower bouquets. For December -- as well as the year as a whole -- traffic to bloomex.ca was up from 2012 and sales followed suit.

"Our successful holiday season is really a testament to the staff here and the tremendous value we're able to offer our customers," said Mark Camphaug, Director of Sales & Marketing for Bloomex. "The company continues to grow, and we fully expect to carry that momentum forward into the new year."

Bloomex Australia, which was launched in 2011, also recorded its best holiday season to put a cap on its best year to date. The company's Australian operations continue to flourish, with increased revenues and brand recognition amongst the Australian public.

The company has already started preparation for the next major seasonal push, with Valentine's Day fast approaching on February 14. The annual celebration of love is a boon to florists and it is always the busiest time of year for the company in terms of web traffic and sales.

Bloomex is an e-commerce retailer of flowers, gift baskets and other gift items, based in Ottawa, Canada, with international operations in Australia and the United States. Customers place orders through its website or a toll-free phone line and the products are delivered via courier to its customers' doors.

Unlike other national brands in the florist industry, Bloomex fulfills its production on the vast majority of its customers orders, buying flowers directly from growers. The products are then shipped from the company's owned production facilities, located in eight Canadian cities in addition to Miami, Fla., and Sydney, Australia.

Further growth lies ahead for 2014. This year, the company will launch a re-designed website, featuring a refreshed look built on its established e-commerce platform. Bloomex is also making inroads into the funeral and sympathy flowers market, with a renewed focus on that side of the business. As well, the company expects to double revenue through its BunchesDirect brand, which specializes in wedding and bulk flowers with operations in the United States, Canada and Australia.

The Bloomex Advantage: How We Offer Fresher Products in Australia and Canada

Whether you're in Australia or Canada, you often ask us how we can offer flowers for less than our competitors. The answer is pretty simple.

We have a streamlined business model that allows us to get our flowers to our customers the freshest flowers at the best prices. The key thing to note is that we bypass the convoluted supply chain used by local florists and some of the floral wire services out there. Add those costs to things like brick-and-mortar locations, staffing costs (as explained here) and other factors, and you, the consumer, ends up paying for a whole lot more than just the bouquet you ordered.

Here's an infographic that should explain things pretty clearly as to one of the main reasons why we're able to position ourselves as Canada's best online florist:

Bloomex Australia Offers Best Prices on Roses Down Under

Bloomex offers the lowest prices on red rose arrangements in Australia.

Bloomex has been a tremendous success in Australia and it's easy to see why when looking at the company's prices compared to the competition. In addition to offering only the best-quality flowers and awesome customer service, the other guys can't compete with our prices. Don't believe us? Have a look at this.

Take a simple arrangement of six long-stem red roses, with no vase included. There are three other major online florists in Australia.

Petals sells the six roses and greenery for $78.50 AUD. Interflora sells the arrangement for $77.50 AUD. And Ready Flowers sells it for $75.00 AUD.

Meanwhile, Bloomex offers six long stem red roses and greenery for $29.95 AUD, a savings of 60% over the lowest-priced competitor.

But it doesn't stop with roses. From popular Gerbera Daisy bouquets to elaborate arrangements, Bloomex's prices routinely blow away the competition.

Why is this? It comes down to the business model. We just wrote about this last week -- albeit about our North American operations -- but the same model largely applies. Have a look here if you'd like to find out more.

One of the great things about Bloomex is that in addition to serving Canada, we proudly serve the United States and Australia.

Australia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and Bloomex is happy to be able to serve the great blokes and sheilas (ahem, brush up on your Australian slang) of the great nation. But Bloomex Australia also features specialty Australian flowers and other products specific to Oz, and is very popular in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra.

We're working on getting the Australian site's Twitter and Facebook presences up and running, so give us a look and a follow if you're visiting us down under.

'Til then, hooroo!
