Bloomex.ca, Canada’s leading online florist, is proud to announce that it fulfilled over 9,900 orders for Valentine’s Day 2014.
That marks the best Valentine’s Day yet for the flourishing company, which sent out orders to every province from coast-to-coast.
“We are so pleased that our customers used Bloomex in record numbers,” said Mark Camphaug, Director of Marketing & Sales for Bloomex. “Our continued year-over-year growth is a testament to the value we’ve been able to provide Canadians since the company was founded in 2005.”
In Australia, the company delivered nearly 3,000 orders this Valentine’s Day, another record for the company in that country.
“Australia continues to really embrace the quality and value that Bloomex is able to offer through our unique business model and commitment to service,” said Brendan Dyke, Marketing Project Manager for Bloomex Australia. “Our success this Valentine’s Day is indicative of the fact that Bloomex is flourishing in Australia, and we really have our valued customers to thank for that.”
Bloomex, based in Ottawa, Ont., is the largest online florist in Canada. Customers’ orders are processed through the company’s site at Bloomex.ca or through the company’s dedicated team of customer service staff.
In addition to flowers, the company offers a variety of other gift items including gift baskets, gourmet foods, sweets and treats, balloons and a large selection of other items.
The company services Canada, the United States and Australia. Unlike most other companies in the florist industry, Bloomex fulfills the production on the vast majority of its customers orders, buying flowers directly from growers and shipping them through a network of ten production facilities in three countries (located in Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Miami, Fla., and Sydney, Aus.)
2013 was the company’s best year ever and the company is expecting to best it in 2014, with a new website design headlining the list of exciting developments.

4 Interesting Flower Stories from Around the Web

Here is a quick roundup of four articles that we've found interesting over the past month or so and thought we'd share with our readers.

  • Bees can't sniff out flowers because of CARS (via The Daily Mail): This widely-reported story got our attention because it could have big implications on the world's food supply. The pollution caused by diesel fumes is apparently affecting honeybees' ability to locate pollen-bearing plants. Worth a read for sure.
  • Freedom trees honour our heroes and sacrifices (via The Star): Just in time for Remembrance Day, well-known gardening expert Mark Cullen relates a touching story of his relationship with his 95-year-old veteran friend, as well as reporting on an effort to line a highway in London, Ont. with trees.
  • Decorating with Fall Colors (via CNN): Some excellent ideas on how to incorporate the tones of the Autumn season, drawing inspiration from the foliage outside, into your interior decorating.
  • Like the Heart, Tulips Know No Season (via Huffington Post): An exciting development, reported on  by writer Bill Prescott, who explains that growers have developed methods of allowing Tulips to grow year-round as opposed to just during the spring.
What do you think of these stories? Let us know in the comments below, or give us a shout on Twitter or Facebook.

Bloomex Australia Is Aces!

One of the great things about Bloomex is that in addition to serving Canada, we proudly serve the United States and Australia.

Australia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and Bloomex is happy to be able to serve the great blokes and sheilas (ahem, brush up on your Australian slang) of the great nation. Bloomex's product lines in Australia include many of the same or similar gorgeous mixed bouquets and gift baskets that we feature here in North America. But Bloomex Australia also features specialty Australian flowers and other products specific to Oz, and is very popular in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra.

We're working on getting the Australian site's Twitter and Facebook presences up and running, so give us a look and a follow if you're visiting us down under.

'Til then, hooroo!
